We started this Jupiter Island project late in 2022. The client wanted to upgrade the old-fashioned and outdated lawn landscape and convert to a sustainable property using native plants. The central theme was to do a beach restoration and build up the dune to block the heavy wind storms. We completed a design focusing on a designated area on the beach side of the property. There were several strips of artificial turf we had to remove which had become rather sun-dried and ugly looking. The design incorporated all native species of plants with salt tolerant qualities. Early in 2024, we embarked on the West side of the house adding additional native plantings. At this point, the plants are thriving on the beach side and Sustainscape is assisting with maintenance to keep all the plants healthy through the wind storms. The client has seen the benefit of the natives after the harsh wind storm in November and December of 2023. All the plants on the coastal side of the property survived and flourished through the summer of 2024.
