Moringa (Drumstick Tree)

Moringa (Drumstick Tree)

Moringa oleifera

Moringa is also called The Miracle Tree. It is a tree that grows with very little water and in nutrient-poor soils and yet produces extremely nutrient-rich, nutty-flavored green leaves. The leaves carry extremely high content of vitamins and minerals, helping eliminate malnourishment in underdeveloped countries and are also Anti-Fungal, Anti-Microbial, Anti-Viral & Anti-Depressant. The leaves can be eaten raw in salad and blend well raw into smoothies, juices or brewed into tea. The white spicy flowers and drumstick seed pods are also edible. The seed pods are harvested when young and green and must be boiled to eat. The tree can grow very high up to 40 feet so it in important to trim it back to keep it at a reasonable level.
